Pre-fab fire pits cost $500-2000. A poured concrete fire pit is permanent, weatherproof, and customizable.

Materials

• Concrete blocks (24 blocks) - $30
• Fire brick or lava rock - $10
• High-temp adhesive - $8
• Landscape fabric & gravel - $2

Steps

1. Choose location away from structures, dig 48" circle 4-6" deep
2. Lay landscape fabric, fill with gravel, tamp and level
3. Arrange concrete blocks in circle on gravel base
4. Stack 2-3 rings with high-temp adhesive, offset joints
5. Line interior with fire brick using high-temp mortar
6. Add drainage weep hole at bottom
7. Let cure 24-48 hours before first fire
